Five Simple Steps to Positivity



    
 

Positivity by definition is a positive frame of mind which enables one to view life through the light of optimism. It is a foundational soft skill we should practice to bring constructive and perpetual changes to our behaviour. 

Alas! Not even a single hour was dedicated to the lessons of positivity in our academia. But no worries! This article will help you to inculcate the metamorphic way of life through five simple steps.

1. Listen to your inner consciousness and understand the language of your body

The initial step to positivity is to know yourself: what you are and what you want. Pay attention to what your mind says and your body demands. Take adequate breaks and relax. Nourish yourself by eating nutritious food and stay hydrated. Rejuvenate your body with 8 hours of deep slumber every night. Remember, a healthy mind comes from a healthy body.

2. Increase self care and exercise

Put yourself first and have some "me time". Take a long shower, smell good or treat yourself  with your favourite cuisine.  Release body tension through physical exercise and yoga. Practice breathing exercises regularly. Meditation is proven to combat stress and to bring tranquility. 

3. Journal and practice gratitude

Ink your emotions is the best way to reflect upon your day. It will help to systematize your thoughts and to plan according to it. Always try to focus on your strengths. 

Practicing gratitude is life-altering as it aids to relish memorable moments and fruitful relationships, consequently proliferating positivity around. Spread some love by sending a postcard to your parents or to an old friend may sound old school, but worthy of it.

4.Less scrolling, more living

Go device-free for some hours a day. Rather connect with the nature and socialize. Feel the grass and  saunter around. Acquaint yourself with noncolleagues and spend more time with your family. Talk it over with someone trustworthy or with a counsellor.

5. Never let the world change your smile

Realizing your individuality is important to survive among the diverse populace. Believe in yourself is the key to win here. Focus on your strengths and evolve into better. Practice positive affirmations and visualize.  Avoid toxic positivity. It is important to validate our emotions too. Set realistic goals and plans. Don't let your dreams get scattered at the first rays of sun and never doubt the power of small steps. Always stay consistent. Knock! Knock!, happiness at your doorstep!
